About EQ

A global movement built around one shared moment.

Equal Under The Sun is a global movement built around a simple idea: twice a year, at the equinox, people everywhere are invited to make one meaningful commitment.

The Idea

Everyone, everywhere, equal under the sun.

For a brief moment around each equinox, day and night come close to balance across the planet.

Different places. Different lives. Different circumstances.

But one shared point in time. EQ takes that naturally occurring moment and turns it into an invitation to act.

Not through one prescribed solution, but through millions of personal choices connected by a common rhythm.

Start

A clear first step that turns intention into action.

Shift

A sustained change to how you live, work, spend or participate.

Lead

An action that helps change something beyond yourself.

The Commitments
(not the movie)

6 areas.
3 Different ways to act.

EQ’s six Commitments are broad on purpose. Each one contains practical actions at different scales, so you can start with something achievable or use your influence to create change around you.

The People Behind EQ

Started by a few.
Built to belong to many.

Equal Under The Sun was founded by Martin Nelson and is being developed by a growing group of people bringing different perspectives, experience and expertise to the movement.

EQ is designed to grow beyond the people who started it, shaped by the people, communities and organisations that choose to take part.

Make one meaningful commitment and put it into action.

Choose an area that matters to you, make the Commitment your own, and take one meaningful step. Start whenever you’re ready, then use the equinox as a shared moment to reflect, renew and keep the momentum going.
